Steel bars come in various grades namely Fe500, Fe500D, and Fe550 in 6mm to 40mm sizes according to the requirement of construction. While constructing the home, experts suggest to buy TMT bars in tons, bundles, or pieces, and the number of bars in bundles, tons, or pieces changes according to their diameters. Finding out the unit weight and length of the TMT bars before their application is equally important, and it also differs according to the different sizes of the Steel Bar.

Here is the formula for calculating the weight of the TMT bar:

W = D2 L/162

Where,
W = Weight of Steel Bar
D = Diameter of Steel Bar in mm
L = Length of Steel Bar in Meter

For Example,
Diameter of the TMT Bar = 6mm
Length of the TMT Bar = 1meter
Weight of 6mm TMT Bar = 6*6*1/162 = 0.222
