How to Calculate the Weight of TMT Bar?

Steel is the most universally commonly used construction material. The construction cannot be thought of without TMT bars. Steel bars come in various grades namely Fe500, Fe500D, and Fe550 in 6mm to 40mm sizes according to the requirement of construction. Here is the formula for calculating the weight of the TMT bar:

W = D2 L/162

Where,
W = Weight of Steel Bar
D = Diameter of Steel Bar in mm
L = Length of Steel Bar in Meter

For Example,
Diameter of the TMT Bar = 6mm
Length of the TMT Bar = 1meter
Weight of 6mm TMT Bar = 6*6*1/162 = 0.222
