Job Summary

The Mechanical HOD – Furnace will be responsible for heading all mechanical activities related to furnace operations in the Steel Melting Shop (SMS). This leadership role involves strategic planning, team management, and ensuring high equipment availability, reliability, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all furnace-related mechanical maintenance and operational activities.
• Plan and implement maintenance strategies to enhance equipment life and efficiency.
• Manage mechanical teams, contractors, and cross-functional coordination.
• Ensure strict compliance with safety norms, plant standards, and best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement, cost control, and performance optimization initiatives.

Qualifications

• BE / BTech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Extensive experience in furnace operations within Steel Melting Shop (SMS).
• Strong leadership, planning, and decision-making capabilities.
